Serving poor is serving to god, Paryaya Swamiji

Udupi, Oct 14, 2014: Paryaya Kaniyoor mutt seer Sri Vidyavallabhateertha Swamiji said that the service rendered to poor and downtrodden is a true devotion towards god.   Speaking after inaugurating the State- level photography expo ‘Tamron Colours of  Sri Krishna’  organised by Udupi Press Photographers’ Association (UPPA) in Udupi on oct 12.


Paryaya Swamij Apul Ira from Mangalore bagged the first prize, Prasanna Perdoor bagged second prize and Vijayendra Ambalpadi bagged the third prize. Rajesh Nayak, Prabhu Swami, Prabhakar, Vinni Image Arts and Manjunath Bhat won consolation prizes. As many as 292 photographers from across the State had sent 581 photographs for the contest. Critic Ishwaraiah and well-known photographer Yajna judged the photgraphs. The swamiji gave away the prizes.


The first prize winner received a 18x27 mm Tamron lens worth of Rs 32,000 from Tamron. The second and third prize winners were awarded the cash prizes of Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 and citations respectively.
