Serious illtreament of orphan

Mangalore, Aug 24, 2014: As per media reports,  Surathkal police have arrested a person for physical assault of a minor girl at Krishnapura Sixth Block on August 22.

 Zubair (55), a resident of Moodabidri but living at a rented house in Krishnapura is named in the case. The girl, who has sustained grievous injuries has been hospitalised.

It is stated, the girl’s mother, hailed from Chikmagalur and was working at Zubair’s house. After her death a few years back, Zubair had taken permission from the Udupi juvenile court to keep the girl in his house assuring looking after her welfare.

But instead of looking after her, he used her as domestic help. Childline received a call regarding the assault. The child welfare committee went to Zubair’s house and took custody of the girl, police has arrested the man and investigations are on.
