Senior journo killed in road accident

Mangaluru, Jan 15, 2018: Senior writer Dr. Veeresh Hiremat breathed his last in a road mishap near Nandagada in Khanapur taluk while returning from a family vacation on January 14.

Dr. Veeresh Hiremut is a known writer and was currently working as journalism lecturer at Bagalkot BVV College. He has previously served in Prajavani and Deccan Herald besides other news channels.  Hiremut and his wife were returning from Goa towards Bagalkote along with a driver. It is said that the car driver fell asleep while driving and lost control of the vehicle. The car hit a tree near Nandagada. The accident killed Hiremat, leaving the wife and the driver severely injured.

The body of the deceased is shifted to Dharwad Civil hospital.
