Seminar On Gandhian Thought will on March 17

Mangaluru Mar 16, 2016: Mangalore University, University College Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi, Rashtra Kavi Govinda Pai and Kumbra Jathappa Rai will jointly organise a seminar on Gandhian Thought in tune with times Politics is a sacred mission and a book will be released on the trail of Gandhiji Footsteps-odyssey of Jathappa Rai at University college on March 17.

 

 

Speaking to press on Tuesday University College principal said that, Grandson of Gandhiji will inaugurate the seminar and Former Lokayuktha Justice N Santhosh Hegde will release the book, Mangalore University VC Byrappa will preside the function.

He said that, Gandhian thought have become more relevant at a time when the questions of indiscipline hatred are haunting the university campuses in the country.

Editor of the book Erya Laxminarayana Alva said that, books are compilations of articles written by various authors on Freedom Fighter Kumbra Jathappa Rai.

Jathappa Rai’s son Pramod kumar Rai said that, he used to fast for three days every year from Jan 29 to 31st coinciding death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi for 46 years.

Valedictory Function will be attended by District In Charge Minister Ramanath Rai and Union Minister for Law DV Sadananda Gowda.
