Delivering the Founder’s Day lecture of  Karnataka Bank on the topic “Indian Space Mission: Challenges and Lessons,”here on February 18, Wednesday,  Radhakrishnan said  the prestigious Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) was one of the prestigious achievements of ISRO. MOM also went a long way in developing an interest in science in students and youth, he said. Continuing, he said the whole world has praised India  and its achievements and MOM will be a great inspiration for further research and achievements in the field of science.

Prof. Radhakrishnan further said India was in the lead in ensuring that the benefits of science and technology reached the common man.

Commending the 91 year old Karnataka Bank for its achievements in the banking field, he said the priority  given by the bank to agriculture and cottage industries is worth emulation.

Ananthakrishna, ex-officio Chairman of Karnataka Bank, who presided over the function, said the Karnataka Bank has successfully  faced several challenges in the field and has emerged as a financial power.

P Jayaram Bhat, MD and CEO of Karnataka Bank in his introductory address, said the Bank has won the confidence and faith of its customers through  its whole range of banking products and services.

Financial aid was provided to Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samaj, Puttur and Wenlock Hospital  on behalf of the Bank.

MS Mahabaleshwar Bhat, Chief General Manager proposed the vote of thanks.
