Mangaluru, Nov 08, 2017: Security has been stepped up across the city as well as the district in view of the Tipu Jayanthi celebration and the BJP’s Nava Karnataka Parivartana Yatra on November 10.
Speaking to reporters here on November 8, Wednesday, ADGP (Law and Order) Kamal Panth said as many as 2500 police personnel will be deployed on November 10 while 13 KSRP platoons will also be on duty to ensure peace and to see to it that no untoward incident take place.
A separate police team will also keep an eye on the movement of rowdy sheeter and anti-social elements, the ADGP said adding peace meetings are also convened.
The ADGP stated that the Department would not allow holding any protest against Tipu Jayanthi which is a government programme.
The SP will visit all places where the Parivartana Yatra of the BJP will hold programmes, Panth added.
City Police Commissioner T R Suresh, SP Sudhir Kumar Reddy were also present.
