Sections 94C and 94CC, title deeds on the way , says minister at Udupi

Udupi, Mar 10, 2017:  Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa made a statement in Udupi that the state government would shortly issue directions on allotting title deeds under under 94C and 94CC of Karnataka State Land Revenue Act for the eligible applicants.

The minister went on to say the notification would immensely help poor and would be a pro-people measure. Under special right for land, the government land would be identified and the land would be distributed to the poor and homeless needy.

Udupi DC Priyanka Mary Francis said the circular related to the amendment to Gomala is issued. A Cabinet Sub-committee is looking into the Kumki and deemed forest land issue and a decision would be taken within 15 days. The Supreme Court has delivered verdict that the Kumki land is government land. A circular on the issue would be sent to the district shortly, he added and told the officials to implement the particulars in the circular.

The minister directed to be precise in introducing the measures mentioned in the circulars which is sent already for disassociating Gomala land. The Forest Committees could accept the applications under Forest Right Act, he said.

He told the DC to prepare an action plan, demand list and compensation report on drought, drinking water problems and natural calamities as there is no dearth of funds. He also reviewed the services offered by Bapuji Seva Kendra.

Thimmappa told the officials to follow the model of Forest Right Committee, Shivamogga, to solve the land issue to some extent. He said he would hold to hold talks with the Forest Minister on the issues bothering Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts separately.

The minister also directed the gram panchayats to effectively discharge duties. The gram panchayat officials should read out the circulars sent by the government to the people, he added.

The other issues that were discussed in the meeting include, Podi-free village, pension adalats, effective implementation of social security schemes, the recruitment of surveyors and land for boys and girls hostels.
