Secretary of Kashi Mutt Pontiff questioned by Police in connection with the murder of RTI activist

Mangaluru, May 07: The city police who have intensified their search for Yuva Brigade Founder Naresh Shenoy said to be the key suspect in the RTI activist Vinayak Baliga murder case, have reportedly questioned Vishwanath Bhat, the Secretary of Sri Samyamindra Theertha Swamiji, the Pontiff of Kashi Mutt Samsthan on Saturday, May 07.

Vishwanath Bhat is said to be a close aide as well as relative of Naresh Shenoy. Police are strongly suspecting the hands of Naresh Shenoy in the Vinayak Baliga murder case.

It may be recalled here that RTI activist Vinayak Baliga was brutally murdered close by his residence at Kodialbail in Mangaluru during the early hours of March 21. So far police have arrested three persons in connection with the case, including two accused said to be contract killers.

There have been vehement demands to arrest the culprits behind the case. Several organisations had also staged protests demanding justice  in the case.

ACP Tilakchandra is  heading the investigation into this case and comprised of Shantharam and Ravish, Inspectors in Bunder and Urwa police stations respectively.
