Sea erosion washes away house in Ullal

Mangaluru, July 14, 2018 (DHNS): With the sea erosion intensifying in Mukkachery and Ucchila in Ullal, a house washed away at Mukkachery in Ullal on Friday late night.

Massive waves are lashing the shores at Mukkachery, Ucchila, and Someshwar since Thursday night. As a result, sea erosion has intensified.

The house, belonging to Aliyabba, was damaged during the high tidal waves triggered by Ockhi cyclone in last November.

Probationary Assistant Commissioner Santhosh and other senior officials visited the spot and took stock of the situation. Mescom officials are shifting the electricity supply in the region. Three more houses are facing the threat of sea erosion.
