Scrutiny of nominations: 12 rejected in DK, 1 in Udupi

Mangalore, April 19, 2013 : The nomination papers filed by as many as 12 candidates have been rejected while those of 86 candidates were found to be in order, during the scrutiny of nominations held on April 18, Thursday.


nominationrejeMost of the rejected nominations were the ones filed by independent candidates, while nominations filed by candidates of national parties and other parties have been approved.

Eight nominations have been approved in Belthangady and Moodbidri each, 15 in Mangalore South, 11 in Mangalore North, 18 in Mangalore,  9 in Bantwal, 7 in Puttur and 10 in Sullia. The final picture as to how many candidates are in the fray will be available after the last day for withdrawal of nominations i.e April 20.

In Udupi:  Of the total 97 nominations filed in Udupi district, one nomination by independent candidate Vishwanath in Kundapur, has been rejected.
