Schools reopen today, festive mood all around

Mangaluru, May 28, 2018: Today, schools across the district will open and there will be functions to welcome students for the new academic year from tomorrow May 29, Tuesday.

As many as 3.19 lakh students will return to the classes. The new academic year starts on a good note when the drop-out student number in the district has come down to 40, which is said to be the lowest in the State.

As per the directions from the state headquarters, schools will open today May 28,  Monday and will welcome students and parents.  Festoons will adorn the schools . The students and their parents will be coming to the school in a procession led by tiny tots joining Class one. Many schools have planned to do “Aarati” of the students.

Following a formal programme, students will be offered food that will have a sweet.  The School Development and Monitoring Committee members will assist the school staff in holding the programmes.

Unlike earlier years, no elected representatives will attend the programme because of model code of conduct in light for the impending Legislative Council election for graduates and teachers constituencies..
