Mangaluru, June 25, 2018: A scarf row has cropped up at the St Agnes College in the city. On Monday, students staged a protest in front of the college campus under the aegis of the Campus Front of India.
The protesting girls alleged that attempts were made to prevent them from wearing scarf at the beginning of the academic year itself. "Though we have been opposing, we were pressurised to accept the college rules and were also warned of fine. In this backdrop we boycotted classes and staged protest," one of the protestors alleged.
Meanwhile, the talks held by the College principal with the protesting CFI activists and students has failed.
Reacting on the issue, Jeswina AC, Principal said "The minority institution respects all students and added that any problem would be solved in consultation with the students and their parents.
