The temple coming under the Mujrai Department was once earlier burgled 15 years ago too. The police have so far failed to apprehend the thieves wanted in the earlier theft cases.

Earlier on the night of August 14, last year thieves who gained entry into the  temple had stolen a large silver mask, a golden replica of the face of the Goddess, Utsava Murthis made in gold and silver, a silver umbrella, silver mask of Lord Veerabhadra and donation boxes, other ornaments and Panchaloha idols.  The donation boxes included the  golden ornaments gifted  by the devotees.

It is being stated that the temple lacked adequate  security arrangements  and that the siren installed in the temple was not functional. Even the six CCTV cameras installed in the temple are said to be of poor quality.

Senior police officials including DySP Manjunath Shetty, Circle Inspector Diwaker and others visited the spot  and investigations are in progress.
