Mangaluru, Aug 14,2015 : This Independence Day, Mangaluru will witness a unique event. As many as one thousand students from schools and colleges under the aegis of the 145 year old Saraswat Education Society will form a human chain from Ganapathi High School Road to Hampankatta Circle and display a 305 meter long national Flag.
The flag will be unveiled by DK Deputy commissioner AB Ibrahim at the premises of Ganapathi School at 7.45 am on August 15. The flag has been prepared by a Hyderabad based company.
Bharat Scouts and Guides students, Seva Dal, NCC Air Wing, Naval Wing and NSS students from Ganapathi English Medium School, Ganapathi Aided Primary School, Ganapathi High School, Ganapathi PU College, Parijnana PU College and Anandashram School from Mahalaxmi Ganapati Temple will form the human chain. This event is aimed at kindling the spirit of patriotism in the students.
Mahesh L Bondal, Secretary of the managing committee of the Education Society and AS Ramachandra Rao, its Executive officer have informed that the Flag is dedicated to the brave freedom fighters as well as soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the cause of their mother land.
