Santh Bhadragiri Achutha Das Memorial Programme inaugurated

Mangalore, Oct 19, 2014: Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade inaugurated a two-day Santh Bhadragiri Achutha Das memorial programme organised at the TV Raman Pai Convention Hall in the city on October 18, Saturday.

 

In his address, Dr Heggade said he has always been a great admirer of the Harikathas of Achutha Das. He described  the Harikatha artiste as a  great personality who was always humble despite the immense popularity he enjoyed.

Basti Vaman Shenoy, President, Vishwa Konkani Kendra, Mangalore, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino, Dr P Dayananda Pai, Chairman, Vishwa Konkani Kendra, Dr Prabhakar Joshi, well-known Yakshagana scholar and several others  paid homage to  the portrait of Bhadragiri Achuth Das.

Noted Harikatha artiste Bhadragiri Sarvothama Dasgi was  honoured on the occasion.

Pradeep G Pai, Secretary, Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Fund, Venkatesh N Baliga, Secretary of  Vishwa Konkani Kendra and Jayarama Pai, Trustee, Sri Venkatramana Temple, Carstreet  were among others present on the occasion.
