Mangaluru, Apr 10, 2016:  District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai  has said that the BJP and the Sangh Parivar would have created a furore had the accused in the case of murder of  RTI activist  Vinayak Baliga were from the minority community.

Speaking to reporters at the District Congress Office on April 9, Saturday, he   blamed the BJP leaders and alleged that they were directly involved in the murder.

He said the accused in the case of  murder of  Vinayak Baliga, those who gave the contract and those who plotted the murder were all Hindus.

Referring to the recent Harish Poojary murder case also Mithun said that "the arrested in both the cases are Hindu activists."

On the Vinayak Baliga murder case, Mithun Rai questioned why Yuva Brigade leader Naresh Shenoy was absconding if he was not directly involved in the murder.He also informed that the Youth Congress has already spoken to the Mangaluru Police Commissioner to hasten investigation into the case.

Mithun also informed that MLC Ivan D’Souza had  spoken to the Chief Minister and had sought a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family of Ivan D’Souza. The CM will soon announce compensation, he added.
