Sahyadri Sanchaya’s novel protest against destruction of trees for DC office complex

Mangaluru, Jan 26, 2018: A unique "Save Western Ghats" campaign was launched by Sahyadri Samrakshana Sanchaya in front of the DC office on January 26, Friday. The participants  wore black and green colour masks to express their anger against the failure of the government to protect environment. The event was organised under the leadership of environmentalist and convenor of the organisation Dinesh Holla.

He condemned the decision to construct the DC office complex at Padil  despite opposition by nature lovers.

The protest was novel in the sense that a broken tree branch and  broken eggs of birds  were displayed on a table symbolically to  portray the damage caused to environment.

Former Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Harikrishna Punaroor,  Sanchaya leaders  Harish Adyar, Dinesh Kodialbail,  Shashidhar Shetty, Yatish Salian, Annayya Kulal and others were present.
