Safety awards presented to employees by Southern Railway

Mangaluru, Jan 13, 2020: Palakkad Division of Southern Railway recognised the timely action taken by Loco Pilot, Shri Lavkesh Kumar Meena, and Assistant Loco Pilot, Shri Muniraj Meena who helped railway to tackle a situation threatening safety in train operation. On 14th December 2019, while this crew were on duty in multiple locomotive going from Jokatte to Panambur, stopped the engine on noticing  a car with driver trapped inside the closed Level Crossing Gate No.92 in Jokatte Yard. Immediately, Loco Pilot had stopped the train and informed Station Manager of Jokatte for further action.

 

Today(on 13.01.2020) these employees were felicitated by Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Pratap Singh Shami with Merit Certificate and Cash awards during the weekly safety meeting held at the Divisional Railway Manager’s office, Palakkad.

Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Shri D. Sai Baba, Senior Divisional Safety Officer, Shri K.M. Basha, Shri S.Jayakrishanan, Divisional Electrical Engineer(Operations) and other branch officers were present on the occasion.
