Sabarimala Samrakshana Samithi joins hands with BJP, VHP to stage protest

Mangaluru, Nov 20, 2018:  The BJP and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in association with the Sabarimala Samrakshana Samithi  staged a protest in front of the DC office here on November 20, Tuesday to condemn the alleged police atrocities on devotees at the hill shrine of Sabarimala Ayyappa.

Speaking on the occasion, Ganesh Poduval,  leader of the Samithi said the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan can very well be dubbed as the Tipu Sultan of Kerala considering the fact that his government has been hurting Hindu sentiments by  committing atrocities on Ayyappa devotees.

He also accused the government of misusing the police department.

Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty who addressed the protestors, said  the police personnel on duty at the shrine were not following the temple tradition which necessitates them to wear black shawl. They are also not supposed to wear shoes and belt, he said.

Jagadish Shenava, District President of VHP, Sharan Pumpwell and others participated in the protest.
