SSLC results announced: Udupi stands first, DK in second position; Puttur boy score 100% marks

Bengaluru, May 12, 2017: Udupi district tops the chart with a pass percentage of 84.23  in the SSLC results for the year 2016-17  announced on May 12, Friday. Dakshina Kannada district stands second with a pass percentage of 82.39. The overall pass percentage this year is  67.87  as against last year’s 79.16 %. State Minister for Education Tanveer Sait gave the details to the media here today.

Poornananda H of St Joachim’s High School, Kadaba secured 100% marks


3 students score 100% marks, including Poornananda H of St Joachim’s High School, Kadaba has scored 625/625 marks in SSLC examinations held on April 2017. Sumanth Hegde from MES Kishore Central School, Bengaluru and Pallavi from SRA Samyuktha Junior COllege, Banahatti, Bagalkote are the other two students who secure 100 per cent marks. Six students scored 624 marks including Jayani R Nath of St Agnes Girls High Scool, Mangaluru.


Bidar district stands last with 62.2 pass percentage. The third position went to  Chikkodi which got 82.39  pass percentage.  Sirsi and  Uttara Kannada  stood fourth and fifth respectively.

As many as 8,77,174 students appeared for the exams this year. As usual girls have gained an upper hand with 2,96,426 girls clearing the exam.

The supplementary exams will be held from June 15.
