SP not happy with security measures at temples in district

 Mangaluru, Jan 13, 2015:  Dakshina Kannada SP Dr Sharanappa has expressed his displeasure over the inadequate security arrangements in various temples in Dakshina Kannada district.

Speaking at a meeting convened at the DC office here on January 12, Monday to review the security measures taken up in different temples, the SP pointed out that the directive to install CCTV cameras and to appoint adequate security personnel has not been followed by many temples.

 He further stated that though some temples have CCTV cameras they have not been installed at some vital points as recommended by the department. Moreover some temples do not have adequate security staff on night duty and even donation boxes are not duly protected, he said and directed the temple authorities to empty the donation boxes once in  15 days.

During the meeting the SP recommended the temples to install movement sensors near windows and also auto sensor fire extinguishers.
