SGFI to conduct national-level volleyball tournament for PU students

Mangalore, August 11: President of National-level Volley Ball Tournament (SGFI) Prof M. B. Puranik said during a press conference held at Sharadha Vidhyalaya School that Sharadha Vidhyalaya and School Games Federation of India will jointly organize National-level Volley Ball Tournament (SGFI) at Sharadha Vidyanikethan School, Talapady from Oct 25 – 30, 2010 .

Giving additional details regarding SGFI, he said that the SGFI is organizing separate tournaments for boys and girls at the PU level. More than 70 teams and 100 players are expected to participate in this event. Thirty-eight teams have already registered for the tournament. Food and accommodation will be provided for the players.

Sharada Vidhayalaya gives a lot of importance to sports besuides imparting CBSE education, value-based education, and Sanskrit. The tournament, which will be inaugurated on Oct 26, is the first of its kind organized exclusively for PU students, he said.

Vice President Shankar Narayan, Coordinator Leela Upadyay, Sudhakar Rao Pejawar, and G. R. Jagadish were present during the press meet.
