SDPI stages protest ; demands action against Bajpe inspector over ’atrocity’ on woman

Mangaluru, Oct 25, 2018: Members of the Mulki-Moodbidri unit of the SDPI staged a protest  in front of the Bajpe Police station on October 25, Thursday demanding action against the Bajpe Inspector  for allegedly committing atrocities on a woman in connection with an old case against her husband.

The aggrieved woman named Salika (40), a resident of Ganjimutt near Kaikamba is presently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru. The protestors demanded that her treatment expenses be borne by the Police Department. They also urged for the suspension of the accused Inspector.

Several SDPI leaders and activists participated in the protest.
