Rural high schools award for NITTE

Mangaluru, Oct  31, 2016: According to a media release, Nitte Education Trust and Nitte University has instituted the ’late Dr Nitte Shankara Adyanthaya Memorial Best School Award’ for rural high schools of the district for the academic year 2016-17.


Rural high schools award by NITTE


It is for the first time that an award has been instituted for the rural high schools of the district. The purpose is to recognise and motivate the good work carried out by the rural schools in all spheres of education. Awards will be presented to two rural high schools selected on the basis of achievements in SSLC Board Examinations, sports, cultural activities during the previous academic year, infrastructure, innovative practices. The first prize is Rs 15 lakh and a plaque and the second prize is Rs 10 lakh along with plaque. The prize amount will be in the form of facilities.

A selection committee under the chairmanship of former Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde, members of Nitte Education Trust and Nitte University, DDPU, DDPI, members representing the association of heads of institutions of high schools and PU colleges has been constituted.

The DDPI has issued a circular and the application form to all schools. The Nitte Education Trust has also sent forms to all schools as per list provided by the DDPI’s Office. The last date to receive the filled application is November 7, which may be emailed or posted to the address provided. The form can also be downloaded from website www.nitte.edu.in.
