Rs. 3.7 lakh gold siezed at MIA on November 9

Mangaluru, Nov 10, 2014: Reports state,  at Mangalore International Airport (MIA) at Kenjar here, Officers of customs,  seized 140.9 grams of gold on November 9 in the form of cut pieces of a gold bar concealed in the Microwave oven motor. Valued of gold seized is Rs 3,69,158 and was in the possession of passenger, who arrived from Dubai.

The gold is said to have been in the possession of   Shanid Angillath, 23, a resident of Angillath, post office, Thaikadappuram, Kasargod, who arrived at MIA on at about 5.25pm by Air India Express flight IX 384 from Dubai. Further investigation is under way it was stated.
