Revised toll tax for driving on national highways applicable from today

Mangaluru, April 1, 2018: Revising all its toll rates by 5 to 7%, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has made travel on tolled national highways costlier. Due to this, five toll plazas in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts has been revised and will be in effect from April 1.

The National Highway Authority of India is managing the toll plaza at Brahamarakootlu and near NITK in Surathkal, while Navayug Udupi Tollway Private Limited is managing the toll plaza at Talapady in DK, Gundmi and Hejamady in Udupi districts.

At the NITK tollgate in Surathkal, the toll for light vehicles for one way journey will remain at Rs 50 as was in the past. However, for the return journey on the same day, the toll charge will be Rs 75 as against the previous Rs 70. The monthly pass has been increased to Rs 1,670 from Rs Rs 1,600.

The toll for light commercial transport vehicles, mini buses etc have been maintained at Rs 80. But for the two-way journey for the same day, it will cost Rs 120 instead of Rs 115. The monthly pass will cost Rs 2,695 instead of Rs 2,585.

For the local commercial vehicles, the toll has been maintained at Rs 40 without any change. The one-way toll for buses, trucks etc is Rs 170 and it will be Rs 255 for two-way journey on the same day.

The monthly pass will cost Rs 5,650. All the non commercial vehicles located within 20-km from the toll plaza have to obtain  a monthly pass of Rs 255.

At Brahmarakootlu
The one-way charge for light vehicles is Rs 25. For two-way journey on the same day, the toll will be Rs 35 as earlier. Monthly pass charges have been hiked to Rs 800 from Rs 770. For vehicles registered within the district, the toll will be Rs 10 as was in the past. The one-way toll for light commercial, transport vehicles and mini buses has been hiked to Rs 40 from Rs 35.

For the return journey on the same day, the charges have been increased to Rs 60 from Rs 55. The monthly pass will cost Rs 1,295 instead of Rs 1,240. For local commercial vehicles, the toll will remain at Rs 20.

Buses and trucks will have to pay Rs 80 for one-way travel and Rs 120 for the return journey on the same day.

The monthly pass will cost Rs 2,710. For vehicles registered in this district, the toll will remain at Rs 40.

Navayug Tollway
In the toll gates managed by Navayug Udupi Tollway Private Limited at Talapady, Gundmi, the toll for one way journey for light vehicles will be Rs 40 while the toll will be Rs 35 at Hejamady. For two-way journey on the same day, the toll will be Rs 65 at Gundmi, Rs 50 at Hejamady and Rs 55 at Talapady. The monthly passes will cost Rs 1,395 at Gundmi, Rs 1,145 at Hejamady and Rs 1,255 at Talapady.

One-way toll for light commercial, goods and mini buses at Gundmi, Hejamady and Talapady will be Rs 70, Rs 55 and Rs 60 respectively.

For the two-way journey on the same day, the toll will be Rs 100, Rs 85 and Rs 85 respectively at Gundmi, Hejamady, and Talapady respectively.

The monthly passes will cost Rs 2,250 at Gundmi, Rs 1,850 at Hejamady and Rs 1,935 at Talapady.

All the non commercial vehicles of residents living within 20-km from the toll plaza have to obtain a monthly pass of Rs 255.
