Retaining wall near Thumbay dam partially collapses ; Netravathi in full spate

Bantwal, July 07, 2018: Netravathi river is flowing above danger mark  following the heavy rains  in the region since the past couple of days. Meanwhile,  a retaining wall near the  Thumbay vented dam has collapsed  partially at around 4 am on Saturday and the pump house of the dam is in danger.

The inflow into the  AMR dam at Shambhur and Thumbay vented dam has increased. Water  is now at 7 feet in the dam. All the sluice gates of the dam except two have been opened.

Presently  temporary repair works are underway at the place where the  retaining wall  has collapsed.
