Renovated Town Hall to be ready by November end : Mayor Jacintha

Mangaluru, July 24, 2015 : Mayor Jacintha Vijay Alfred has informed that the renovation works of the Town Hall  will be completed by November end.Speaking to reporters on July 24, Friday, Jacintha stated that   the pending works including   installation of AC, seating facility etc have been entrusted to different contractors.

She also stated that a temporary tender has been invited for the other pending works including stage screen, sound and lighting,  and false ceiling works at a cost of Rs 98 lakhs. The AC and generation connection works will be taken up at a cost of Rs 49 lakhs while Rs 60 will be utilised towards seating facility, she stated.

The Mayor also admitted that the renovation works had been hampered  recently due to some technical  issues.

On this occasion, the Mayor informed that DK District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake will inaugurate several developmental projects in the city on July 27. The projects that are being  undertaken are the  Kuntikana-Kavoor Road, Bondel-Pachanady Road, Malady Court Road, Ladyhill-Koragajjana Gudi Road, Durga Mahal-Bokkapatna Road, Subhashnagar-Mangaladevi Road and Mallikatta-Kadri Temple Road.

The Mayor also stated that   the Central Market and the markets at Alake, Kavoor, Kadri, Suratkal, Kankanady and Kulshekhar Kaikamba will be developed and upgraded.
