Renovated Red Cross building opened in Udupi

Udupi, May 28, 2016: Speaking after inaugurating the newly built structure,  Udupi DC  Dr Vishal R said the upper floor of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) building has been renovated at a cost of Rs 43 lakh as its ground floor will be reserved for the differently abled persons.  He said training classes will be held on the ground floor.


DC Dr Vishal Differently abled persons will also be treated there.The District Disabled Rehabilitation center (DDRC) will enable the full-fledged training and treatment facilities for the disabled persons, he added.

DC Vishal said a sum of Rs 11 lakh has been allotted for the purchase of required equipment.


Around 25% of the materials have been already purchased. At least Rs 11 lakh is needed every year for the smooth functioning of the DDRC, he said.


The required arrangements are being made. The IRCS has eight personnel to offer service across Udupi district.
