“More essentially, I hope the people will get entertainment from it,” he said.  Jerry Vincent Dias, a film producer, said that making films was a tough job. Good publicity was essential for the success of a film.  Unlike in the past, people now had several sources of entertainment, most notably television.  A few decades back, going to films was a big event for a family.  There used to be long queues before cinema halls for purchasing tickets.

“Now the situation is such that we have to call every person and request him to watch the film,” he said. The silver lining for the Tulu film industry was that a good many films, which had got released in the last few years, had done good business.  “The Tulu film industry is now no less than Bollywood, Sandalwood or Kollywood. Our only religion is Tulu. We have to work for the success of all Tulu films in Tulunadu,” Mr. Dias said.

Yelnad Yatish Alva, producer and director of ‘Right Bokka Left,’ welcomed the gathering. Yashpal Suvarna, President of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts Fish Marketing Federation, Indrali Jayakar Shetty, General Manager of Badagabettu, Manohar Shetty, businessman, and the crew of the film, were present.
