Regional commissioner sends report to CM regarding Patrao land issue

Mangalore, July 18: Regional Commissioner of Mysore Division Ms. Jayanthi visited Mr. Gregory Patrao at his ancestral home in Kalavar and said that the government was willing to give him an alternative farm. But Mr. Patrao said that he will accept it only if it is in Kalavar where he is the member of the Gram Panchayath.

Ms. Jayanthi was sent by CM B. S. Yeddyurappa to meet Mr. Gregory Patrao. She was accompanied by the DC V. Ponnuraj, police officers, and officials of KIADB and MSEZ. 

Mr. Patrao placed before the regional commissioner his demands: first, to drop all criminal charges against him, his mother, his wife, his children, and social activist Ms. Vidya Dinakar; second, to take action against KIADB and MSEZ officials for forcibly snatching his land and demolishing his house in Kalavar; and third, to allow him to live in Kalavar where he had been living with his family, his cattle, and other livestock for the past 50 years. 

Ms. Jayanthi had a consultation with the other officials in the Circuit House and sent a report to the chief minister.
