Ration to be collected from storage centers before month end, says UT Khader

Mangaluru Aug 29, 2016: A meeting was organized by Minister for Food and Civil Supplies UT Khader for Ration shop owners and Food inspectors at Deputy Commissioner’s office on August 29, Monday.

U T Khader directed all ration shops and cooperative societies to collect ration from the storage centers of district before the month end and start distribute it from first of every month.


Addressing the gathering Khader said, The ration should be distribute to public every mont in the beginning. If public distribution shops not interested to distribute ration for any reason, should prior informed to the food and civil supplies department. A case would be filed against those ration shop owners and cooperative societies. The storage capacity of the ration shops should be increased.  If they fail to do so the permission of such shops on disbursing ration would be cancelled. Food inspectors should send a memo to such ration shop owners and direct them to follow the guidelines.


He also informed that co-operate societies and public distribution shops would receive commission money of 70 paise instead of 36 paise for every one per kg of ration. The transport and labour charge also increased. The government has introduced coupon system in order to supply ration to the public without any delay. Hence, everyone should cooperate in this regard, he stressed.
