Manjeshwar, Dec 24, 2013: The literary works of Rashtrakavi Manjeshwar Govind Pai transcended all barriers of caste, creed and language, said Union Minister for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Evnironment M Veerappa Moily.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the new building of the Manjeshwar Govind Pai Bhavani auditorium building and Memorial here on December 23, Monday. Describing the late poet as the treasure of literature, he hoped the Rs 2.92 crore Gilivindu Project would be a national tourist centre. The Memorial works would be complete by May while the Bhavani Auditorium will be complete by December 2014, Moily said.
P Karunakeran, MP presided over the function. Karnataka Forest Minister Ramanatha Rai, KK Gupta, Marketing Director of Bharath Petroleum, PP Upadhya, MD of MRPL, CH Kunhumbu, former MLA, Tejomaya, former MUDA Chairman, PS Mohamamd Sageer, DC of Kasargod and DK Chowta, Working President of the Memorial Trust, were among others present.
