Ramotsava draws to a conclusion with ’Ravana Dahana’

Mangalore, Mar 26: “Ravana Dahana” was held as part of Shri Ramotsava jointly organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, and the Ramotsava Celebrations Committee at Nehru Maidan in Mangalore on March 25, Thursday. 














The “Ravana Dahana” was held to commemorate the killing of Ravana by Rama as narrated in the Ramayana. A number of crackers were placed within the idol of Ravana. The crackers went off when a devotee playing the role of Rama shot an arrow at Ravana. 


The celebrations commenced on March 23, Tuesday with a series of rituals and cultural events. A temporary Rama Mandira was also constructed at the venue.
