Mangaluru, June 11, 2017: The third phase of the Swachh Mangaluru campaign organised by Ramakrishna Mission which saw as many as 400 cleanliness programmes at various places across the city has concluded. A programme to mark this occasion was held on June 11, Sunday at the Ashram auditorium in the presence of a host of dignitaries including Swami Gauthamanandaji Maharaj, Vice President of Ramakrishna Mission, N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University, Nalin Kumar Kateel, Dakshina Kannada MP, A J Sahoo, Director MRPL, BGV Prasad, Chief General Manager of MRPL and Capt Ganesh Karnik MLC.
Presiding over the function, Swami Jithakamananda thanked each and everyone who contributed to the success of the drive. He also stated that the campaign would be also organised in gram panchayat levels.
Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj who also spoke described cleanliness as next to Godliness. He also sought stern action from the authorities against those littering public places.
N Vinay Hegde in his address congratulated Ramakrishna Mission for its cleanliness initiative and completion of 400th cleanliness drive.
Volunteers of Swachh Mangaluru campaign were felicitated during the function . In the wake of monsoon, the next phase of the programme will be held from October this year.
