Rakshana Vedike leader arrested for misbehaving with woman

Udupi, July 5, 2018: Honorary President of the district unit of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Santosh Shetty Panjimar was arrested by the police for reportedly misbehaving with a lady at Panjimar near Shirva. It is learnt that Shetty had visited the fancy shop owned by the victim when she was alone and  behaved indecently with her. It is said that he asked the lady to join him at a lodge in the town and even warned her of dire consequences if she failed to heed to his demand.

It is said that he had also been calling the woman on her mobile phone. Finally the woman who informed her  husband  laid a trap to the accused  by inviting him to his shop. When he arrived the lady thrashed him right in the presence of her husband and he was subsequently handed over to the police.

The accused has been arrested under SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act as the victim belonged to the scheduled caste.
