Rajeshwari Shetty-main accused in Bhaskar Shetty murder case, granted bail

Udupi, Nov 08, 2018 : As per the directions from Supreme court , Udupi District and Sessions Court granted conditional bail to Rajeshwari Shetty-the main accused in the murder of Bhaskar Shetty a  Hotelier and NRI Entrepreneur.

 

According to the reports, Bhaskar Shetty went missing from his house on July 28, 2016. His mother Gulabi Shetty lodged missing person complaint on 29th July, 2016. The police arrested his wife Rajeshwari Shetty , their son Navaneeth Shetty . and also Niranjan Bhat, an astrologer on the charge of helping executing the murder plot of Shetty and destroying the evidence.

The Supreme Court, on April 23 had directed the district court to complete the hearing of 36 witnesses out of 167 witnesses within six months. The Supreme Court, which held hearing, directed district court to obtain statements from main witnesses and grant bail to Rajeshwari Shetty.

Other accused in the case, Navaneet Shetty and Niranjan Bhat are still in prison.
 
Senior Advocate Arun Bangera and Narayana Poojary appeared for the accused in the case. At present Rajeshwari Shetty is lodged at Parappana Agrahara Prision in Bengaluru and she will be  released from jail in two days. The next hearing is postponed to February 4, 2019.

The court has warned that Rajeshwari Shetty not to threaten witnesses , should be present during next hearing, she may not leave the country without consent from the court, her passport should be surrendered within ten days of release and the bail will be cancelled if any of the conditions are violated.
