Mangaluru, Nov 18, 2016: In support of the several demands of farmers and  poor landless families  the Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha staged a protest in front of the DC office on November 18, Friday.

A demand was place forth to provide housing sites and title deeds to poor landless families  who have been  residing in government lands for over several years.

K R Shriyan, District President of the Sangha alleged that the farm policies of the Centre were detrimental to the interests of the farmers.

Sunil Kumar Bajal of CITU, K Yadav Shetty, District unit Secretary of the  Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha and others participated in the protest.

Police detained the protestors who later tried to picket  the DC office. They were subsequently released.
