Rain and wind damages houses in Udupi

Udupi, June 10, 2015: Houses were damaged due to rain accompanied with strong winds in Udupi district on June 9, Tuesday.

Information from Kundapur Taluk Office, the house of Sadhu Belagarti was completely damaged at Katbelthur village in the after noon.  The damage has been estimated at Rs. 1 lakh.

The house was damaged in rain and strong winds at Hemmady village.  The loss due to the damaged had been estimated at Rs. 8,000.

According to the information provided by the District Control Room here, a house  was damaged due to winds and rain at Mudar village in Karkala taluk.

 The damage had been estimated at Rs. 6,000. Udupi received a rainfall of 42.4 mm in the last 24 hours ending at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, while Kundapur and Karkala towns received a rainfall of 29.2 mm and 49.2 mm as per records.
