Rail.jThe tracks had come under boulders and slurry due to landslides  following heavy rain in the region, disrupting train services between Mangaluru and Bengaluru via Hassan.

SWR senior divisional operations manager, Mysuru division, said in a press note that the services were disrupted due to continuous sliding of loose soil along with boulders in the form of slurry on tracks.

The track was restored in the morning and day trains were since running smoothly.

The railway staff undertook the restoration work in hostile weather conditions to clear the slurry between Siribagilu, where the landslides occurred, and Subramanya Road railway station, he said. With continuing intermittent heavy rain the danger persists and travellers must take care.
