Raid on Pumpwell hotel, recreation club at Bejai : Commissioner talks tough

Mangaluru, June 30 2018: City Police Commissioner T R Suresh has said that  the Mangaluru City Corporation has been asked to cancel the  license of the lodge at Pumpwell which was raided on June 22 wherein a prostitution racket was busted and six Bangladeshi girls were rescued.

He also said the Police Department has recommended cancellation of licences granted to  a recreation club near the Bejai KSRTC bus stand which too was raided on June 22.

He said as many as 51 persons were arrested, 40 cell phones seized apart from a cash of Rs 1.2 lakhs.

Pointing out that the Department has received information that gambling centres were operating in the guise of skill games centre, the Commissioner said he has asked the police personnel to keep a close watch on such places.
