Rahul Gandhi meets relatives of Oscar Fernandes, to attend funeral

Bengaluru, Sep 16, 2021: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met family members of late Union Minister Oscar Fernandes in Bengaluru on Thursday. He will also participate in the final blessing at St. Patrick’s Church and Burial at Hosur Cemetery. Rahul Gandhi reached Bengaluru on Thursday afternoon.

 

Karnataka unit Congress President D K Shivakumar received the mortal remains of veteran party leader and former Union Minister Oscar Fernandes at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office in Bengaluru today morning.

Meanwhile, top Congress leaders including Ranjit Singh Surjewala, and K.C. Venugopal came to Bengaluru to pay their homage to the leader. Rahul Gandhi will also participate in the final blessing at St. Patrick’s Church and Burial at Hosur Cemetery scheduled from 3:30 pm onwards.

Fernandes passed away on September 13 at a private hospital in Mangaluru as he was being treated for a head injury that he had suffered while practising yoga at his residence in July.
