Rahim Uchil refutes social media rumours of his alleged conversion

Mangaluru, Mar 22, 2017: Rahim Uchil,  State  Vice President of BJP Minorities Cell and former president of Beary Academy has vehemently denied rumours of his alleged conversion into Hinduism and accused some forces of trying to malign  him through some baseless  posts and morphed images on social sites.

Speaking to reporters here on March 22, Wednesday, Rahim alleged that he was under threat from some people in the city.  It may be recalled here that some edited pictures of him in the company of Pejawar seer was  misused to claim that he got himself converted to  Hinduism. The pictures had even  gone viral.

Rahim said he knew Pejawar seer for the past 25 years and had great respect for the  religious leader. "I had uploaded on my Facebook Page the photos of my meeting with Pejawar seer last time wherein he presented  prasada and blessed me.  But the same has been misused and I have been accused of embracing Hinduism for the sake of power and money," said Rahim.

He blamed the Mangalore Muslims Page for   the issue  and for posting his edited pictures and alleged that he was being threatened on social sites.

Stating that he  was a true Muslim, Rahim added has been doing all his duties.  He also alleged that  some elements were trying to spread hatred through social media.

Rahim said he has lodged a complaint with the Mangaluru Police Commissioner on the issue.
