Mangaluru, August 10, 2016: An anti-ragging sensitisation programme was held at K S Hegde Medical Academy, Nitte University for senior students of Allied Health Sciences on 10th August 2016.
Addressing the students, Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Dean & Professor of KS Hegde Medical Academy stressed the need for senior students to be very sensitive to new students joining the professional courses to establish an everlasting bond of friendship. One should also be aware of the bad consequences of ragging and the possible repercussions on the future of the students as laws are very strict in this context.
He termed the tendency to rag as an expression ofcrueltyto fellow human being and should be nipped at bud. He called upon all the students to report such incidents if they come across any, to their respective staff or institutional antiragging committee at the earliest, without any hesitation.
Prof (Dr) Kiran Mirajkar, Vice Dean KSHEMA and Prof (Dr) Rekha Rai, HOD of Microbiology were present during the programme. Prof (Dr) Sripada G Mehandale, Department of Anaesthesiology welcomed and Dr Raghuraj, Associate Professor of Radiology proposed vote of thanks.
