RTI activist Baliga murder: One more accused arrested

Mangaluru, May 18,2016: The police have arrested Shailesh in connection with the murder of RTI activist Vinayak Baliga. With this, the police have so far arrested four persons in the case.

The 51-year-old Vinayak Baliga was hacked to death near his house at Kodialbail on March 21. The police earlier arrested Vineet Poojary, Nishit Devadiga and Shiva alias Shivaprasad.

According to a press release, Shailesh (40) was arrested from a hideout on the outskirts of the city. Shailesh allegedly conspired with the other arrested persons in the murder of Baliga.

The police said that he worked as a driver for a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician.

The police said that efforts are on to trace prime accused, Naresh Shenoy and Srikant who have been absconding since the murder.
