Replying to a question at the Janaspandana programme in the RTO office here on Tuesday, he said that earlier the RTA had served a notice on the association for hiking the fares without the consent of the authority. The association questioned the notice in the Karnataka State Appellate Authority which upheld the notice. The order was passed later.

He said that the association had announced the hike in fares through the media. Now it should announce the rolling back of fares also through the media to make all people know about it. The bus operators should comply with the order, passed about four days ago, of the authority. The fares should be rolled back immediately, he said.
