RSS worker stabbing case : 6 teams launch manhunt for assailants

Bantwal, July 7,2017: Dakshina Kannada District Superintendent of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy who is camping in the Bantwal Town Police Station ever since  RSS worker Sharath was stabbed at BC Road  last week, has said that six police teams have launched a manhunt to nab the assailants. The SP who spoke to reporters on July 6, Thursday said so far 20 people have been questioned  and added that no definite clue has been found so far.


Sudheer KumarThe SP admitted that though the CCTV footages from the camera in front of the laundry  where the incident took place, have been scrutinised, the images are vague and only reveals that the  accused had arrived by motor bike and left the place after the attack.

The SP has said that security has been tightened  in the wake of the protests planned at BC Road on Friday by a Hindu outfit.

He also stated that over 1000 personnel from neighbouring districts including Mysuru and Kodagu have been deployed in Bantwal.

The SP even convened a meet  at the station on Thursday   and the same was attended by senior officials including in-charge Additional SP Vishnuvardhan, DySP Ravish and others.
