RMO - Resident Med.Officer for Wenlock

 Mangaluru, Oct 19, 2015 ;  As per reliable reports, Welock Govt.Hospital of DK which is a high profile district hospital at Mangaluru, has just got a reputed  medical doctor as the RMO - Resident medical officer.  Dr.Julian Saldanha has assumed charge of the post on October 16, 2015. Dr.Julian is a well known senior specialist at Wenlock and particularly to patients  for whom he always showed concern and due care are glad.

WenlockHis new role will augment the  district hospital administration to make it a better hospital for the patients, PG students and his medical colleagues. He is married to Dr. Prema  who is a  Professor in a reputed medical college of the city and the daughter of a well known pioneer medical personality of Magalore, Dr. V T D’Souza. 


He is of Mangaluru roots a member of a well known Konkani family;  After tertiary education at Mangalore’s reputed St.Aloysius, he was admitted for the MBBS at M S Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore.

He was appointed to service in the Dept of  Health and Family Welfare,   Government of Karnataka  in 1991, as an Assistant  Surgeon. He then served at hospitals in the undivided  DK district. In 1994, while he was at Wenlock, he was deputed for study. He earned his MD in internal medicine from Fr.Muller’s Hospital Mangaluru in 1997 and initially served in Bhatkal before being  promoted  and posted at Government  District Wenlock hospital Mangalore as Senior Specialist in charge of dept of medicine.  It  augers well that now he is promoted as the RMO here.


Dr. Julian Saldanha, is active in the medical and social scene of the city; he served successfully as Secretary Association of Physicans of India, DK branch for two terms,  Member of IMA -  Indian Medical Association,   Rachana, Sodality, Member of Dakshina Kannada cricket association and so on. A wide cross section of the medical fraternity and citizens of  Magaluru welcome the appointment.
