RK Mission Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan, summing up of 4th phase held July 22

Mangaluru, July 23, 2018:  A special review and shramadan was organized post the 40 weeks of 4 th phase of Swacchata Abhiyan by Ramakrishna Mission in Marnamikatta and  Mangaladevi areas on July 22, Sunday, forenoon. Many volunteers participated in the Shramadan which did some fine tuning and summing up as well. They cleaned the area around  Marnamikatta Railway Bridge and surrounding areas and other spots where some attention was needed. They cleared the cement dustbin and the unused small shop lying next to it. Land was levelled using JCB and flower saplings have been placed in pots in the area to prevent people from littering the spot. Volunteers also cleaned the Mangaladevi car street and visited houses door to door creating awareness among the residents. Sri Chandrakanth Kulkarni of Pune, Suresh Shetty, Kamalakasha Pai, Vittaldas Prabhu, Aniruddh Nayak and many others actively participated in the drive.

Swacchata Darshana – Programme for Students: Swacchata Darshana is a special programme of  Swacch Manas and last in the series of programmes conducted in 100 high schools. The change that was brought about in the students by series of programmes conducted in various schools under  Swacch Manas, their feedback and creative thinking were tested by asking them to write a small test  for hundred marks. More than 10,000 students have participated in these exams. About 60 resource  persons addressed these students before handing over the papers and gave them orientation as to  the significance of their feedback etc. Their papers are being evaluated and best performers will be awarded in the near future. Sri Ranjan Bellarpady coordinated these programmes with the assistance of Guruprasad and Kanchana.

Distribution of Drinking Water Plants: After an appeal from the school administration as also  considering the need to provide clean drinking water to all students as part of Swachata Abhiyan, about 10 Drinking water units were installed in 10 different schools. Under this initiative such units  were installed in Govt. High school at Car Street, Balmatta, Madani High school, Ullala, Govt. Higher  Primary School, Vamanjoor, Swami Sadananda Saraswati High school, Nanthur Padavu, Govt. High  school, Moodushedde, Bhagini Samaja, Jeppu, Higher Primary School, Badriya Nagar, Mallur etc. In  near future such plants will be installed in some more schools and selected Village Panchayats.  Sachin Shetty Nallur and  Abhishek V S coordinated this programme.

Magic For Cleanliness: To create awareness among the students a special Magic Show  Programme has been organized in 100 selected schools. Named as “Magic for Cleanliness”, Till date shows have been conducted in 56 schools by world renowned magician Sri Kudroli Ganesh and group since last 40 days. Students are not only entertained by these shows but are also being educated  about cleanliness and their role in ensuring a clean India. Navneeth Shetty has coordinated the shows.
