RBI to release new 20 and 50 rupee notes; old notes continue to be valid

New Delhi, Dec 04,2016 :  The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Sunday announced that it will issue new notes of Rs 20 and Rs 50 denominations. All older notes will continue to be legal tender.

 

The new notes will bear the signature of RBI Governor Urjit Patel on one side, and the year of printing on the reverse side.
